this is the second one I’ve bought. the first one worked well but the included battery would not fit and stay in the included charger. I could live with that by using 4 reg batteries. But recently the light started acting up. No bright light, sometimes no light at all. Unfortunately I was outside the 1 yr guarantee/warranty. Had to trash it.Yet, I bought another one. And so far, this charger is holding the battery (with the help of some scotch tape.

This is a VERY VERSATILE tactical flashlight and even includes an UNDOCUMENTED FEATURE, which I discovered late last night (around 3 AM on 11/03/2016). It runs on a rechargeable battery (supplied, along with special charger) or 3 AAA batteries (Duracell recommended, since these are much less apt to leak than Energizer brand). It is “zoomable”, ranging from a VERY BRIGHT and fairly small beam to a very large probably 80-degree arc, but not “wickedly bright”. WARNING: These are NOT TOYS! A friend of mine HURT HIS EYES looking into one of these tactical flashlights, and I think he said that it messed him up for a few days!!! While not as dangerous as a laser pointer, they’re still not toys. This uses a VERY POWERFUL LED bulb. This model has 5 modes of operation: High (default–on power up), Medium, Low, Strobe (probably at 300 pulses per minute or 5 Hz), and SOS (for summoning emergency aid). WARNING: PLEASE AVOID playing around with “SOS” mode (has “random flashing patterns) outside. This may be equivalent to playing around with calling 9-1-1, when there is no emergency.UPDATE: I previously said that the charger did not have any polarity markings. Someone kindly corrected me, telling me about markings in the RECESS of the charger. Using a magnifying glass and carefully looking, I found them. This same person mentioned about possibly designing a charger that can charge regardless of polarity. Having the markings more prominent and/or putting a SPRING on the negative terminal would be helpful. Having a spring on the negative terminal seems to be standard in a lot of battery operated devices. Anyway, I give thanks to the one who kindly corrected me, telling me about the polarity markings in the RECESS of the charger.

Bought this 6 years ago for my husband. He’s an Electrician and he uses it every day. The switch finally died after 6 years and he wanted the same one. He loves it and it’s well worth it. He’s even going to save the old one for the parts because other than the switch, it still works!

Bright and decent value the money, but I doubt that its 1000 lumens. This is a nice bright unit. Battery lasts a very long time. This unit also comes with a case to hold everything which was a nice added bonus.I have bought 2 other models (3 total models) that I can compare to this one for you.1. (THIS UNIT) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ECVB6P0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this item represents itself as 1000 lumens. I have tested all of the units and swapped batteries while testing and used an identical battery in all units. The Outlite A100 was brighter. Construction, fit and finish were nearly identical. Price is about the same. This unit comes with a case which the Outlite does not, but they both come with the same stuff.2. (Other Flashlight I bought) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X0QFZ06/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This item is a great value, but not as bright as this Outlite. At the time of writing this review it included 2 flashlights as a combo buy – $8.50 for both flashlights (without batteries) If you buy 18650 battery and charger as well its a pretty good deal. Its pretty bright, just not quite as bright as the Outlite, close though. This item represents itself as 1200 lumens, which I doubt because the Outlite A100 says its a 900 Lumen and is brighter than this flashlight. This flashlight is smaller than the Outlite by about 1-2 inchs. By the way, the battery and charger combo i bought was: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017T6W9EC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it included 4 batteries and charger for 12.99.3. (Other Flashlight I bought) https://www.amazon.com/Outlite-Handheld-Flashlight-Portable-Tactical/dp/B00VZT2WP6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1473084175&sr=8-2&keywords=Outlite+A100+900+Lumens This unit is a amazon best seller and represents itself as 900 lumens. It was the brightest of all 3. I would recommend this unit over the 1st one. I would say that if you want 1 good flashlight that fits in your hand perfectly get this Outlite, if you want more than 1 flashlight and dont mind the smaller size (does not fit in hand) Get the Ultrafire SK 98 because its a combo and you cant beat the price and brightness. Each of the 3 units have pros and cons. Realistically, you cant go wrong with any of them. 3 is the brightest and most expensive, 2 is a combo and as bright at the Peak plus, and this PeakPlus includes a case and is a larger (fit in your hand) flashlight like the outlite as opposed to the 2nd one combo flashlight which is a mini size. All these units look and operate similar, but the Outlite was the brightest, and the Ultrafire SK98 was the best value, the Peakplus has a case.

Couldn’t help but check it out before I gifted it. Super bright little flashlight. I loved the high beam. Case seems cheap compared to the nice flashlight you get.

The box is garbage . Once you open the plastic tabs that keep it shut , you can not get them to lock again . Two do not work and two of them are okay for the time being . The company finally showed me what I had to do to get them to work . It is still cheap .there should be one metal clasp in the middle instead of 4 plastic ones .

The most impressive features of this flashlight are the brightness with zoom and the lithium battery with charger. Although I have not had the flashlight very long (1 week) it has more than passed my expectations. The zoom feature allows adaptation to your environment from pin point at a distance to a wide field for just walking and getting a full view of everything around you. I have purchased 5 of these type flashlights in the past (2 different manufactures), this is my third manufacturer. The previous purchases are older technology so this one definitely has a leg up on my other lights and capability. The other lights use 3 AAA batteries; this one has a choice of using 3 AAA or 1 lithium battery. In the past the 3 AAA batteries do not have a long life which I expect the lithium battery will hold up much longer and can take the 3 AAA as a backup on longer outings where I will not have the capacity or convenience to recharge the lithium if needed. The pricing seems very reasonable compared to others I have looked at and for me this holds the best value and features. After having a longer experience with this flashlight I will probably replace all my lights with this one. I am a believer you should have a few of these placed around your home and your vehicle for easy accessibility when needed.

This is the best flashlight I ever owned. Best of all it is rechargeable at any USB port.

  10. Ira Varhaftik

The case is very cheaply made. One of the plastic latches broke off immediately when unlatching. Otherwise all else is good.

After a couple of weeks it started shorting out and acting strangely. I was using one of my own 18650 batteries. The battery that comes with the light is 1/8″ to 1/4″ longer than a “normal” 18650. Once I put the orig. battery it works fine. Except for that, the light works great.

While I like this flashlight, there isn’t much I can add that hasn’t been already covered by other reviewers that you probably haven’t already read. However, it is worth noting that ALL of these flashlights are mostly from the exact same manufacturer and simply rebranded. I’ve purchased a great many of these flashlights (I have a bit of a flashlight obsession), often when they are on sale, and have seen first hand that there is no substantial difference between many of them. For example, this Flashlight is rated as 1200 lumens. I have another flashlight that is EXACTLY the same from a different “manufacturer,” down to the bulb, brightness, box and accessories it came in, except for the name that was stamped on it – and it was rated at 1000 lumens. Do I know if this is 1200 or 1000? No, not really. But The beam looks exactly the same on the wall side-by-side down to the square chip pattern in the bulb, and if they’re the same thing, and they list different measurements…well you be your own judge, but I think that someone’s not being so honest. It’s a not-so-secret secret that a lot of the products here on Amazon are simply ordered in bulk from Alibaba, dropshipped to Amazon fulfillment centers, and sold as being an entirely new product by the seller. This has nothing to do with Amazon or Alibaba, but individual sellers buying in bulk and reselling even higher. Aside from usually very minor features or a different color, it’s the same thing – the only difference is marketing (this is the brightest one! no wait THIS is the brightest one!).That’s not to say that the products are bad, or low quality, or inferior. I do think, however, that buyers need to be aware of this. It doesn’t just apply to flashlights. Some of the top selling “brands” are entirely self-made on Amazon, and 9 times out of 10, when you see a similar item from a new “brand” that looks just like the more established, higher priced one, it’s EXACTLY THE SAME THING. It’s crazy because I see people swearing by one “brand” over the other, and then I’ll take a look on Alibaba and find I can buy 1000 of for $1.50 a piece.Anyway, I like the flashlight. I’ve included some pictures to show exactly what I’m talking about. Just my two cents on the topic. You’ll see what I’m talking about in the pictures. This may not be exactly what the seller wanted to see, and I expect lots of downvotes because of it, but I think people should know the truth.

Exactly what it says. Bright light. Easy to use. Easy to charge.

Second one we have bought for the house. My son stole my husbands and he needed it to walk the dog at night. Great flashlight!

  15. Robert McNabb

The Flashlight is just like advertised. I purchased the flashlight for my wife , per her request. I picked this light because you could use use off the shelf batteries, or use the rechargeable battery. Both ways provided the same results. After a long period of time, we were unable to do a recharge, I believe it was do to operator error. Contacting the company, they took action right away with no questions asked, they resolved within a few days.Good product, Good Service, will purchase from them again.

After 4 years the first one of these, same brand, etc, is having issues. It automatically changes thru the solid on, flashing, rapid flashing so I decided I’d get a new one to replace it.This new one does not have a regular plug in charger. It just has a USB charger without the AC adapter. That is NOT an issue for me since I will use my charger from the one I am replacing.I currently have 4 of these same exact ones. I am pretty happy with them and the cases are not too badAND they come with the battery. I see a few others now, more and more, that do not come with a battery and only come with the adapter for 3 AAA batteries, which this one also has.I did buy another much higher “quality” one of these at the same time I got my original one (the one that is finally going bad), it came with a nice case but still not as nice as this green case this one comes with. It lasted 2 years before it no longer worked. The 3 other ones I have of this brand are still working strong… 2 of them it seems like the original battery is wearing out, as the battery seems to need recharging more than the other one and definitely more than a new one.I’m still giving these 5 stars instead of taking off 1 star for the USB charger. That does not seem fair.

The recipient of the gift was very happy with it…

Great flashlight but when it died I couldn’t charge it.

The Peak Plus flashlight is a very well made light with much to recommend it. It comes in a very strong storage case, which hold all the parts necessary for its operation. I like the fact that its power can be supplied either by its rechargeable Lithium battery or by utilizing three (3) AAA batteries. In that way, you aren’t denied the use of the flashlight, while the Lithium Battery is being recharged. In my opinion, this light best use is outdoors. Of course it can also be used indoors as well. That said, I must make this important point for me personally. I have been disabled for quite some time, with limited mobility. Not to find fault with the Peak Plus, due to its solid construction and weight, I find it difficult to handle the light. At this time I am in the process of deciding if i should keep or return the unit. My need for a flashlight is mainly for illuminating various remote control units in a darkened room, or lighting the face of my watch, without fumbling for a tiny switch on the watch, or other small tasks. As good as Peak Plus is, for my usage, it’s kind of overkill.
